Club Policies and Rules
The following rules and regulations supersede all previous Club rules and regulations. These rules form a part of the membership agreement and are applicable to the use of The Dalles Fitness and Court Club.
Upon submission of your completed application for membership you will be issued a temporary guest pass affording you club privileges in accordance with your choice of membership. After your application has been verified and processed your membership account will be established and you then are entitled to enjoy all the privileges and facilities of the club, subject to the rules established by the club. Privileges shall continue as long as the member’s account is kept current and in good standing in accordance with club policies.
The purpose of the club policies is to assure all members and guests full enjoyment of the club’s facilities. Compliance will enable the club to maintain its standard of excellence of service to every member.
Infraction of any of the club policies shall be brought to the attention of a member or guest by management. The management reserves the right to eject any member or guest from the club grounds for conduct which, in its judgment, is detrimental to the welfare of the club.
Swimming Pool Rules
- Shower before entering the pool.
- No person suffering from any communicable disease, transmittable via water shall use the pool.
- No person under the influence of alcohol or drugs shall use the pool.
- No person shall swim alone.
- A responsible adult observer shall accompany all non-swimmers and persons under the age of 14 years when lifeguard is not on duty.
- No person shall run or engage in horseplay in or around the pool.
- Enter the pool facing forward only. Diving is not permitted.
- Flotation devices, masks and fins, and other toys, are permitted at the discretion of lifeguard (or Club Staff Member.) on duty.
- No food or drink in the pool area.
- No bottles or glass in the pool area.
- Plastic pants are required for all individuals wearing diapers.
Dress Code
Proper attire is required at all times. Only clean “work out” clothing is permitted. Street clothing is not permitted on the courts or when using the exercise areas. No footwear other than proper court shoes that do not leave marks is allowed on the courts. Members should not wear street shoes when using any club facility. Shirts and shoes must be worn on the courts and in the exercise areas and lounge at all times. Swimsuits are not acceptable attire anywhere but in the pool area and locker rooms.
Club and Personal Property
Club members and guests should take proper care in keeping valuables secure. The Club will not be responsible for loss or theft from lockers, locker rooms or any other area of the Club. We urge you to keep your valuables with you at all times.
Lockers
Lockers are rented on a monthly basis to regular members only. Members can receive a discount on rental if annual fee is paid in advance during the month of January. Locker fees are not refundable. Members shall keep their lockers free of debris and soiled laundry. Rates and availability can be obtained at the service desk.
Liability for use of property
Each member of the Club shall be liable for any property damage and/or personal injury at the Club or at any activity or function operated, arranged, or sponsored by the Club caused intentionally or negligently, either by the member, or the member’s guest(s), or family. It shall be the obligation of the member to pay for any costs involved upon presentation of a statement thereof. Any member, guest, or other person who, in any manner makes use of or accepts the use of any apparatus, appliance, facility, privilege, or service whatsoever owned by The Club, or who engages in any contest, game, function, exercise, competition or other activity operated, organized, arranged or sponsored by The Club, either on or off The Club’s Premises, shall do so at his or her own risk, and shall hold The Club, its owners, employees, representatives, and agents harmless from any and all loss, cost, claim, injury, damage, all liability, sustained or incurred by him or her resulting there from, and/or resulting from any act of any owner, employee, representative, or agent of the Club.
Messages and postings
The Club Staff will be pleased to take messages for members during the regular Club hours. These messages will be at the front desk. It is not possible for the staff to personally relay messages to members other than at the front desk. We also ask that members minimize personal calls as much as possible as a courtesy to fellow members and staff. Emergencies are, of course, an exception.
No picture or written material shall be posted at the Club without management’s prior consent.
Private Parties
The Club is available for private parties after regular Club hours. Parties may be from closing till midnight for $5.00/person ($150.00 minimum), or from closing till 5:30 am, for $10.00/person ($500.00 minimum with a $200.00 cleaning/security deposit). Some restrictions on use of property may apply, and reservations must be made at least one month in advance. Contact club manager for further details.
